Birthday Plate

Every Monday I will post something related to babies: inspiration, craft projects, baby news, and discoveries I have made in this new and exciting world for me. I hope you come along on that rollercoaster ride with me.
* * *

One of my favourite birthday traditions when I was little was the golden plate. Only on your birthday you were allowed to eat your breakfast from this special plate. Don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t precious in the conventional sense. It wasn’t inherited. It wasn’t made of real gold. It wasn’t even beautiful. But it was gold & very special... and that is all that mattered to us.

I have no idea what happened to this precious plate. When I had a look in my mum’s kitchen cupboards this Christmas, I couldn’t find it. And no one seemed to know what happened to it. It just disappeared.

So for my little one, I will need to find a new golden plate. Because this is a tradition I definitely want to keep. So I searched the internet and found these:

But I think I will search the flea markets once it gets warmer. Not only because there the plates are much more affordable, but also because I think you shouldn’t be able to buy such a special birthday plate again and again. Part of its charm for me is that it is unique. And that you have to fix it if you break it. Oh dear, I am such a romantic and sentimental cow ;-)

Today, I am also going to show you the next set of presents which can be won, if you take part in my birthday survey. It’s super easy – all you have to do is answer my two questions:

What do you like to read most in this little blog of mine?
and
What do you currently miss in my little blog?

and then you are in the drawing for one of five present packs.

Like e.g. the Fernweh-Wanderlust Surprise Pack

Or the Oh Baby it’s Monday Surprise Pack

With a special soap and showergel which will take all dirt away – a book for the most amazing and funny things your baby did and a pen to write them down – and a dummy band which prevents the precious pacifier or favourite toy from falling out of the pram and disappearing forever.

Plus three more surprise packs to be unveiled during this week.

Oh vielen Dank, dass du einen Anfang gemacht hast. Ich dachte schon, meinen Blog liest doch niemand. Und deine Wuensche sind mir natuerlich Befehl ;-)

Hi, I just followed Catherines link, as I did before.

I guess you are interested in general feedback, so here we go:
I like your travelling stories and the baby talk!
I would like to see more "personal" thoughts and things, crafted or sewn or decorated (like the bay room posts...).

All in all I like to stop by from time to time and just browse through, but... manchmal bin ich auch zu faul, Englisch zu lesen ;-)))
(...und nur weil ich zur Zeit in Elternzeit bin und ich so gar nicht mehr Englisch spreche oder schreibe kommentiere ich manchmal dann doch auf Englisch)

Viele Grüße,
Chris
