Rien ne va plus

That’s it!

Das war’s!

The birthday survey is now officially closed! Thank you so much for taking part in my first blog survey ever! I am a bit disappointed that only two people left their feedback. That either means that you, dear readers, were too busy with other things. Or you hate surveys. Or you don't like the prizes. Or that no one really read my blog - despite the stats ;-(. I decided to believe one of the former reasons. Nevertheless thank you so much for giving me feedback, Catherine and Chris. I am taking your suggestions very seriously and will definitely include them in my plan for the new blogging year. Of course I am going to share my plans with you as soon as I am done with planning.

But first of all I want to give away the surprise sets...

... and since there are 2 winners and 5 prizes, it doesn't really make sense to do a draw. Instead I suggest that you just let me know which sets you would like to get, Catherine and Chris, and I am going to send them to you. So please make your choice of the following (and don't forget to email me your postal address as well):

the Fernweh-Wanderlust Surprise Pack...

... the Oh Baby it’s Monday Surprise Pack...

... the Top 5 Books Surprise Pack...

... the Wedding Wednesday Surprise Pack...

... and the Fabulous Crafting Surprise Pack.

The other 5 winners of my birthday give away, are of cause my dear regular readers, who each get one of these Regular Reader Surprise Packs...

Svenja alias Tofina from it’s my territory
Ul
Jolijou alias Andrea from jolijou
Jane from Frau mit Frosch
Sternchen from sternchen

Girls, please just email me your address to ninotschka13@gmail.com and the surprise packs are on their way to your mailbox.

Thanks again to all who took part in the survey and left me valuable feedback! Have a lovely Saturday!

Christmas is over

Seriously, I started packing my Christmas decoration. And suddenly it sinks in. Christmas is over. Another year has passed. Another wonderful ‘Advents’ and Christmas time is over. And as always this lovely time of the year has just flown by. And as always I wish it would last longer than just a month or so.

Anyway, there is nothing I can do about it, so I keep with tradition and pack the Christmas decorations away on ‘Heilig-Drei-Koenig’ (Epiphany). Because otherwise they would sit on my bench, on my windows and in my shelves till Easter. So good-bye for now lovely shiny ornaments, beautiful little reindeer, wonderful romantic lights and candles ... See you next year!

Now I have other things to celebrate and decorate...

... new art, new photos and new cupboards, which I am going to show you once they are up on the wall.

Something Blue

On Wednesdays I share everything wedding with you: tips, projects, organisation, photos, faux-pas, fun things and golden rules I ‘learned’ from my own wedding. I feel I need to give something back to the fabulous blog community who helped me stay sane and enjoy every second of my ‘big day’.
* * *
Everyone knows the wedding tradition that the bride should wear “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” in order to have a happy marriage. Usually the ‘blue things’ are pieces of jewellery, garters, embroidered handkerchiefs or the like, but I think something blue could also be:

I love hats. And headpieces. And fascinators. And I think you should always wear something 'unobtrusive' on your head when it’s your birthday ;-). So have a look at Frollein vom Sofa’s other creations as well. They are all adorable!!!

Birthday Plate

Every Monday I will post something related to babies: inspiration, craft projects, baby news, and discoveries I have made in this new and exciting world for me. I hope you come along on that rollercoaster ride with me.
* * *

One of my favourite birthday traditions when I was little was the golden plate. Only on your birthday you were allowed to eat your breakfast from this special plate. Don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t precious in the conventional sense. It wasn’t inherited. It wasn’t made of real gold. It wasn’t even beautiful. But it was gold & very special... and that is all that mattered to us.

I have no idea what happened to this precious plate. When I had a look in my mum’s kitchen cupboards this Christmas, I couldn’t find it. And no one seemed to know what happened to it. It just disappeared.

So for my little one, I will need to find a new golden plate. Because this is a tradition I definitely want to keep. So I searched the internet and found these:

But I think I will search the flea markets once it gets warmer. Not only because there the plates are much more affordable, but also because I think you shouldn’t be able to buy such a special birthday plate again and again. Part of its charm for me is that it is unique. And that you have to fix it if you break it. Oh dear, I am such a romantic and sentimental cow ;-)

Today, I am also going to show you the next set of presents which can be won, if you take part in my birthday survey. It’s super easy – all you have to do is answer my two questions:

What do you like to read most in this little blog of mine?
and
What do you currently miss in my little blog?

and then you are in the drawing for one of five present packs.

Like e.g. the Fernweh-Wanderlust Surprise Pack

Or the Oh Baby it’s Monday Surprise Pack

With a special soap and showergel which will take all dirt away – a book for the most amazing and funny things your baby did and a pen to write them down – and a dummy band which prevents the precious pacifier or favourite toy from falling out of the pram and disappearing forever.

Plus three more surprise packs to be unveiled during this week.

Birthday Survey & Giveaway

My first blog birthday, like my real birthday, is time for reflection. What did I like about the last year? What do I want to do in the next year? And since my little blog isn’t only about what I want but also about what YOU – dearest readers – want, I would like to make a little birthday survey with you. Don’t worry, it won’t be hard work for you. Au contraire, just 2 little questions to answer and lots of prizes to be won. It’s my blog’s first birthday after all ;-)

So all you have to do to win is:

Answer the following 2 questions (just leave a comment or send me an email until next Saturday, January 8th):

What do you like to read most in this little blog of mine? (e.g. travelling, crafting, reading, food, fashion, interior, babies, weddings, shopping, interior, personal stories about my life,...)

What do you currently miss in my little blog?

Among all who take part in this mini survey, I am going to raffle off some fantastic little blog birthday presents. Or sets of presents to be more precise. Five in total. And to keep up the excitement, I am going to unveil you one surprise pack on every day of this week.

Let’s start with the Fernweh-Wanderlust Surprise Pack

containing a bag from India - a wallet from Malaysia - hand wipes from Japan - a set of mini cards (to write down addresses or vocabulary) - and a pen from Australia
