Garage Sale

Garage sales are a wonderful Australian tradition. If you have a lot of things you want to get rid of, all you have to do is put everything in front of your garage or in your front yard, put up some signs and balloons, a few comfy chairs to sit in and you are ready to go.

No need to book a stall at a flea market. No need to squeeze everything into the car and drive it to a second hand dealer. No need to go through the trouble of posting each item on ebay. Simply open your private treasure hunters’ paradise.

And that’s what we did today. Together with friends who are going back to Germany in less than a month. Together with the rest of their street, because the more sellers the more fun. And the more treasure you will find to fill those empty spaces in your apartment ;-)

The result of our successful and very fun garage sale is:

I got rid of a lot of ‘stuff’...

I added only very ‘few’ beautifully soft vintage fabrics to my collection...

I earned some money...

... and we had a very lovely day sitting outside on the pavement in the sun. I even got a little tan ;-)

Happy Saturday!
