Lovely readers,
The little one and I are off to a holiday. Nothing too exciting, just a few days with my family in Munich and Austria. We hope for lots of snow, long walks with the sledge (‘Schlitten’), some sleep-ins (me), lots of playing and cuddling with grandma (the little one), good food, meeting old friends, reading tons of books (me again), finding new things to play with (the little one),...
In order to make the few days off feel like a real holiday, I am going to leave my laptop at home, I won’t be browsing the net and won’t be blogging until next Wednesday. Time offline so to speak. I have prepared some eye candy for you, however. I will show some photos of me being all dressed-up for Fasching.
I wish you all a wonderful time– whether you celebrate ‘Fasching’, ‘Karneval’ or nothing at all at this time of the year.

Creative Shopping Heaven Berlin
After discovering their fabulous website last night and discovering that their shop is just 20min away, my daily midday walk ended by chance at
I spend a wonderful hour in this relatively small shop, because despite its small size it houses an amazing range of beautiful-beautiful things. Amazing children toys. Wonderful home decorations. Breathtaking stationary. And of course I couldn’t resist. I am very proud of myself, however, keeping my limited spending budget in mind that I just bought these
Aren’t they a real sensible, economic purchase? Imagine how many different things you can make with them. I will never have to purchase a postcard anymore in my life. From now on I will make my own. Little pieces of art, personal and worth-to-keep, instead of overpriced, badly printed pictures of the Louvre, Bavarian castles or the London Eye. That’s a bargain, isn’t it?
While chatting with Nicole, one of the two lovely founders founders of schoener.waers.wenns.schoener.waer (it would be more beautiful if it was more beautiful), she told me that right across the street, at Moritzplatz, an amazing craft department store will open soon. A Modulor department store to be precise. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. For all of you who haven’t been to the Modulor store in Berlin before. This is the creative shopping heaven. They have specialised in materials of all kind. I think it is the best-known secret for all architects, model railway builders, artists and creative people of all kind. Their only disadvantage was that the hop itself was pretty small and you really had to dig to find all the amazing things. And now they are opening a multi-story department store this year. Huraay! I knew this part of Kreuzberg was up and coming. Well, just now I am sure ;-)
And for all of you who don’t live in Berlin, please don’t cry. Modulor has a great online shop as well.

Mail Art
On Wednesdays I share everything wedding with you: tips, projects, organisation, photos, faux-pas, fun things and golden rules I ‘learned’ from my own wedding. I feel I need to give something back to the fabulous blog community who helped me stay sane and enjoy every second of my ‘big day’.

I got this parcel from a friend in Australia yesterday. Doesn’t it look fabulous? I think it is not just a parcel. It is a piece of art! And I’m really impressed that Australia Post as well as the German Post shipped it without complaining.
I think using a lot of similar stamps is also a great idea for wedding invitations. More is more! It catches attention. It screams: look at me. It dresses up the envelope. Everything you want for a special invitation. I could imagine a field of flower stamps. Or a sea of fish. Or a world of landscapes.

Highlights of Me Made February
Me Made February was really the greatest blog initiative I have ever taken part in.
It was FUN: especially trying to take photos of myself, without automatic release, without tripod, but with dark winter skies, a clingy 9-months-old and a splotchy mirror ;-)
It was INSPIRATION: new blogs, new creative people, new things on my to-do-list e.g.
